I am tired of all the unnecessary and harmful chemicals in commercial body wash. And I at least want to reduce the amount of chemicals.( Sodium Laurel/ Laureth sulfates (SLS) etc.) So I make my own. Now I really dislike Bar soap, so Liquid I go. Save all your old body wash bottles or other sealable bottles. Can even put it in a large container and refill your bottles
What you need : 1 bar of soap- your choice. Less chemicals the better. I am using Ivory soap. ( now if I could get my hands on the VINTAGE soap that floats) 9-10 cups of hot water Bowl for mixing
Grate the Soap and stir until it dissolves in the hot water
It will just look like soapy water. Dont panic... it will set up overnight.
Depending on the soap you used, you may need to get your hand mixer out and whip the liquid soap if it sets up to hard/ thick. And you can even add more water to it and mix. Now it wont be as pretty as store bought body wash, it will actually look kinda snotty. And it wont lather as much as store bought, but remember, it does not have the SLS in it. But I got almost 4 body wash bottles full for the cost of the bar soap which was less than $1.00
I have not tried it with the Goat Milk soap, so dont know how that will turn out.
